Welcome to JeffE’sTake! My name is Jeff Evans and I am owner and webmaster of bootscootinreview.com. I am writing this new blog, because I want to take you on a new adventure that helps you find a fitter, more nutritious, more active, and fun life! Whew, that is certainly a mouthful and some big goals :). With a little help (from us) and a little motivation (by you), I know you can reshape your life so you’ll never be left behind. How do I know that? I know it because I have done that for myself and with my wife, Carol over the past 4 years. Think about the times you’ve been asked by your friends/kids/grandchildren to go on a walk, a hike, a bike ride, go dancing etc, and made an excuse not to go, because you didn’t think you could physically do it? My goal is to convince you TODAY to start taking baby steps everyday, that will help make you ready for the new challenges of tomorrow and the rest of your life! How can we get started? Lets take a look at this new adventure we are going to take together. We will focus on three areas. They include:
1) Slowly increasing your fitness level in general, and for specific activities. Finding fun places and fun ways to increase your fitness, such as walking, hiking, paddling, dancing and more. This is all about slowly and gently improving your balance, strength, and flexibility to improve your stamina and fun for playtime.
2) Slowly changing the way you fuel your body daily! I will tell you how to change your refueling (notice i didn’t say diet? lol), by eating more foods that are filled with proteins, fibers, nutrients, good carbs, good fats, AND contain less calories. We will also look to add more foods that aid your body in burning fat by revving up you metabolism. We will also talk about hydrating you body with teas that have scientific studies backing there life extending properties. Green tea is one and I drink it every day. These are referred to as superfoods. They are very tasty too! Legumes too.:))
3) Changing your mindset, which includes attitude, effort and happiness. We want you to learn how to get up each day with a positive attitude and goals that will make you happier. Think about the positive, refuse to clutter your mind with negative, use mindfulness to find happiness. Appreciate the gifts you have and the positives in your life.
So where are we headed? We are starting our new adventure with the goal of having more fun in our lives. To never feel left out or unable to participate. In my next blog I want to talk about the first baby steps you can take in nutrition and exercise. Until then, please tell yourself every morning, as you get up, you are going to make each day the best it can be! Positive thinking works!
